22-03-13 | The launch of The Branded Gentry, by Charles Vallance & David Hopper, took place last night. The book is an illuminating collection of portraits of a set of remarkable individuals, all of whom have turned their names into successful brands. From a diverse range of backgrounds, a sweeping range of industries, these are the pioneers of modern enterprise. The launch was held at Christie's, the fine art auctioneers, next to some of Warhol's Campbell Soup canvases, themselves an iconic image of eponymous branding.
The book is published on the 4th of April and is available in hardback and ebook.

20-03-13 | Following nearly six weeks of negotiations, Yair Lapid has signed a coalition agreement to join Benjamin Netanyahu's Israeli government. Yair has been named the Finance Minister, and was sworn in on Monday.
Yair's party, Yesh Atid, won nineteen seats in the elections in January, the second most after Netanyahu's. He is a former TV anchor, and author of Memories After My Death (Elliott & Thompson, 2011), a memoir of his father, a "literary tour-de-force" (Jewish Chronicle), and a must-read for anyone interested in Israeli society.
The book is available now in paperback and ebook.

27-02-13 | Last night saw the launch of In the Ring: A Commonwealth Memoir, by the former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, Sir Donald "Don" McKinnon, who lead the organisation for the first 8 years of the twenty-first century. The book was launched at Marlborough House, where the UK Commonwealth Secreteriat is based. Don received a warm welcome, and the book received high praise from former High Commissioner to the United Kingdom for Antigua and Barbuda, Sir Ronald Sanders, who praised the book as "a chronicle that is as frank in its content as it is wide in its telling of the inner workings of life in the ring of the Commonwealth, Don McKinnon's memoir is compulsory reading."
The book is available now in hardback and ebook, and tickets are available to hear Don in conversation about 'soft power diplomacy', where he will be signing copies of the book, at the Durham University United Nations Society, this Friday.

25-01-13 | Elliott & Thompson author, Yair Lapid, has made international headlines, as his new political party, Yesh Atid, gained 19 seats in the January 2013 national elections, making it the second largest party in the Knesset, and Yair one of the most powerful political figures in the country. Yair was formerly one of Israel's leading journalists, presenting Friday Studio, the prime time news magazine of Israel's Channel 2.
Yair is the author of Memories After My Death (Elliott & Thompson, 2011), a "literary tour-de-force" (Jewish Chronicle), in which he powerfully constructs the autobiography his father, Tommy Lapid, a well-loved and controversial Israeli figure, always intended to write. The result is a sweeping narrative, mesmerising for anyone with an interest in how Israel became what it is today.
The book is available now in paperback and ebook.
